Steven McMennamy was born in Marietta, Georgia. At two years of age, his family moved to the Philippines where he McMennamy spent "some of the most tropical/volcanic/humid/rice-consuming" years of his life. In high school, he realized that he wouldn't be an engineer like his father, and looked into the world of advertising.

McMennamy worked as a designer, Art Director, and Creative Director. It was this journey in advertising that led him to develop his unique "combo photos." In the profession, he started to look for more interesting ways to build a connection between brands and people - and through experimentation, combo photos came to life.

McMennamy currently works in advertising through various agencies, although most of his time is spent "obsessing over obtaining a deeper understanding of human behavior on social… and ultimately what causes a thumb to stop scrolling." We think he's definitely gained some understanding of what makes a thumb stop scrolling, as his combo photos are captivating.
